Code of conduct

A welcoming workshop for everyone

SET 2027 brings together researchers from different countries, career stages and backgrounds. We want every participant to feel safe and able to take part fully.

Expected behaviour

  • Treat everyone with respect, in sessions, at the site visit and at social events.
  • Give everyone room to ask questions. There are no basic questions in a training workshop.
  • Credit other people’s work, data and ideas.
  • Follow the safety instructions during the DAPwell site visit.

Unacceptable behaviour

Harassment, intimidation or discrimination in any form, including offensive comments about gender, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, ethnicity, nationality, religion or age; unwelcome physical contact or sexual attention; and photographing or recording people who have asked not to be.

Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behaviour, tell any member of the organising committee in person or contact the lead organiser. Reports are handled confidentially. The organisers may ask anyone who breaks this code to leave the workshop.

The workshop also follows the Seismological Society of America standards for professional conduct at its sponsored meetings.
